Abstract

Optometry is a primary care profession. The optometrist is the often the first and only contact a patient has with eye health care.

To be able to perform a thorough examination of the eyes, it ́s of great value to be able to examine the eyes dilated. Therefore, the ability to use diagnostic drugs is essential for the optometrist.

This lecture reports experiences in Sweden, where optometrists have diagnostic privileges since 2014. In the lecture, case presentations will be given.
